One man has been taken to hospital following a road crash in West Clare this morning.
The collision involving a car and a waste collection truck happened around 9 o’clock this morning in the village of Connolly, when it’s understood the lorry was struck from behind by a car travelling towards Ennis.
It’s understood that workers were collecting local bins when the incident occurred and were not standing at the back of the vehicle at the time and escaped injury.
The driver of the car managed to get out of his vehicle and was assessed at the scene by ambulance personnel and was transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
