Man killed in North Clare accident named locally

The man who lost his life in an accident in North Clare last evening has been named locally as Kieran O'Driscoll.  

Mr. O'Driscoll, who was in his fifties, had been working on a dumper near Fanore when he became trapped.

Emergency services were called to the scene but were unable to rescue him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, tributes will be paid this evening to Thomas Bernard Walsh, who losed his life in a separate accident on his farm at Shragh, Doonbeg on Thursday evening.

Mr. Walsh's remains will lie in repost at the Church of OUr Lady Assumed Into Heaven, Doonbeg and will be laid to rest following funeral mass there tomorrow at noon.
