Man released over Shannon stabbing

A man being questioned by gardaí  over a knife attack in Shannon has been released without charge.

The victim, who was in his mid 30s was stabbed in the stomach as he answered a knock at the front door of his home in the Cluain Airne Estate on Sunday September 30th

On foot of a fresh appeal gardaí  conducted a search of a premises in the Drumgeely area early yesterday morning and a 21 year old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

He was questioned at Shannon Garda Station before being released without charge last night but a file is being prepared for the DPP.
