The battle for the last Irish European seat is set to resume at 10 o'clock this morning.

It's after a full recheck was announced last night in the Midlands Northwest constituency-with just 275 votes separating Independent Marian Harkin and Fianna Fáil’s Pat the Cope Gallagher.

Independent Luke Ming Flanagan, Fine Gael's Mairead McGuinness and Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy have already been elected.

Meanwhile, all four seats have now been filled in the Ireland South constituency.

Fianna Fáil's Brian Crowley topped the poll, Sinn Féin's Liadh NiRiada came second, former GAA boss Sean Kelly won the third seat, while last night Fine Gael's  Deirdre Clune secured the fourth seat with just over 4,000 votes more than her party colleague Simon Harris.
