The Mayor of Clare is urging both the travelling public and tourism providers in the county to get fully behind newly announced transatlantic services at Shannon Airport.

From next year Aer Lingus will have year round flights to New York and Boston from the Mid West with up to a hundred new jobs being created.

The Boston service will go daily from January with New York from end of March.

Clare’s First Citizen – Fine Gael’s Joe Arkins has welcomed the news but says all involved in tourism provision and the general public need to support the services to ensure their viability.
