The Mayor of Clare is warning match-goers to be cautious, as people scramble to secure a ticket for Clare’s All Ireland Hurling Championship Final clash this weekend.

Excitement is building ahead of the game in three days time.

With just three sleeps to go until Cork provides the opposition at the 82,300 capacity Croke Park on Sunday next, the scramble continues for those who haven’t yet got their hands on a golden ticket.

It’s Clare’s fifth appearance in an All Ireland Final since the 81-year-wait for Liam McCarthy was ended in 1995, and a first since the Banner’s last title was won in 2013.

Speaking at Clare FM’s All Ireland Preview Show, which will be broadcast on Morning Focus tomorrow morning from 10am, Mayor of Clare, Sixmilebridge Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan says those lucky enough to secure a ticket should be careful though, that they’ve got their hands on the genuine article.

Separately, Excitement is building across the county as the countdown continues to Sunday’s all ireland championship hurling final.

Cyril Conlon from Kilanena, who’s John Conlon’s uncle and godfather, says hurling has a special way of bringing the county together.

It’s a particularly special week in East Care, with seven clubs represented on the team this year.

Scariff – Ogonnelloe Manager Alphie Rodgers, whose nephew Mark is on the starting 15, says this sows the seed of inspiration for young people in the area with an interest in Gaelic Games.
