Clare TD Michael McNamara is among a number of Independent TDs who will meet Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil today to discuss forming a government.
The two parties have agreed to form an administration together, but are eight seats short of a Dáil majority.

The Scarriff native is among nearly a dozen Independents who will meet both parties in a series of meetings today, with others including Denis Naughten, Sean Canney, Marian Harkin, Michael Fitzmaurice,
The Greens, the Social Democrats and Labour are still deciding whether to go into government with the larger parties.
