President Michael D Higgins has accepted an invitation to return home to County Clare for a Civic reception in his honour.
President Higgins, who spent much of his childhood in Ballycar, Newmarket on Fergus, had been invited to return to the Banner County shortly after he was victorious in last year’s election.

The reception in his honour is provisionally scheduled to be held at Aras Chontae an Chláir on June 14th.
