The Midwest Hospitals Campaign is pouring cold water on the prospect of a specialist group set up by the Minister for Health being able to get to the bottom of overcrowding issues at University Hospital Limerick.

It comes as new figures show more than 2,000 ambulances presented at UHL’s Emergency Department last month, which was over 500 more than the next busiest facility.

It’s believed a group set up by Minister Stephen Donnelly to assist the UL Hospitals Group with high trolley numbers will also examine issues with ‘patient pathways’ including ambulance presentations and waiting times.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Ballyvaughan native Noeleen Moran of the Midwest Hospitals Campaign claims the group won’t tell anyone what they don’t already know.
