The Transport Minister says plans to establish a new entity to operate Shannon Airport and administer it’s surrounding landbank by the middle of the year remain on track.
Leo Varadkar has told the Dail that legislation to merge the now independent Shannon Airport with a restructured Shannon Development will be advanced before the end of June.
He says he’s hopeful this will allow the new Shannon entity to be established ‘mid-year’, though he admits this is challenging.
Minister Varadkar has also told the Dail that the steering group established to oversee the implementation of a new era for Shannon is continuing to meet on a regular basis.
