Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer has described as “devastating,” an incident in Ennis during which an older man was targeted by a thief.
The man in his seventies was approached by another man at the Height in the town centre last Friday around 11am, after which a sum of money was taken from him.
The older man described the suspect as a male wearing a black hooded jacket, black trousers and blue runners.
Sergeant Catriona Holohan said “this is a devastating incident for this man and Gardaí are currently viewing CCTV.
“We are appealing to anyone that may have seen a male matching this description at any time in Ennis town last Friday to contact Ennis Garda Station.
“It is really important that we identify this perpetrator and Ennis Gardaí would appeal to any witnesses to please come forward,” Sergeant Brooks concluded.
