Motorist Escapes Serious Injury As Ennis To Crusheen Road Reopens

A motorist has escaped serious injury following a road traffic collision near Crusheen this morning.

The single-vehicle accident happened at around 10.40am at Caheraphúca on the R458, the old Crusheen to Ennis road.

An ambulance and paramedic response car responded to the incident along units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station and Gardaí.

The car is believed to have struck a ditch before overturning on the roadway.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was assessed at the scene by paramedics and later removed to hospital for further treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and until the vehicle had been recovered from the scene however the route has since reopened.
