Waiting times for an NCT in Clare’s only testing centre are more than double the national average.
Figures released by the Irish Independent show motorists are waiting around 60 days for appointments in Ennis, compared to 23 nationwide.
The analysis shows tests are readily available at other centres in the region, including Limerick and Tuam.
The news comes despite plans for a second centre in Shannon having been halted in May, though it’s understood two alternative locations in the town have now been identified for the facility.
