New West Clare Cathaoirleach Promises Major Focus On Off-Shore Wind Projects

The new Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District says advancing offshore wind projects will be among her chief priorities.

Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor Rita McInerney will chair meetings of representatives from the Kilrush and Ennistymon Electoral areas for the coming year, while Lahinch Fine Gael Councillor Bill Slattery will serve as Leas Cathaoirleach.

The region is expected to benefit from significant renewable energy investment in the near future under the Shannon Estuary Economic Taskforce and Moneypoint Green Atlantic projects.
