A North Clare woman has won gold in the 9th European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships in Finland.

Marie O'Connor, a kidney transplant recipient from Lahinch, together with Bridie Nicholson from Sligo came in first place together in the Petanque Doubles event in Vantaa yesterday.
It's her second gold medal, having secured first place in the singles event earlier in the day.
