Bathing restrictions are in place at Lahinch Beach.
On the advice of the HSE, Clare County Council has issued a “not to swim” advisory for the popular destination.
It’s after routine bathing water samples indicated elevated levels of bacteria in the water.
However as the Red Flag has not been erected there, swimming is not prohibited.
In accordance with An Taisce’s Blue Flag programme, the Blue Flag at this bathing area will be removed until such time as the water quality improves.
