One of Clare’s most famous natives was home in Tuamgraney this week to launch local plans for the Gathering.
Critically acclaimed writer Edna O’Brien unveiled plans for a weekend of events to take place in her local village around the June Bank Holiday.
The Country Girls Author has said she’s delighted to be involved in "Tuamgraney -the Gathering 2013" and refers to the East Clare village as the " home of (her) home and font of (her) fictions".
The June events promise to have something for everybody involving sport, music and literature and organisers are already reporting strong interest from abroad with many already booking flights from as far as USA and Australia.
