Scarriff native and international best seller Edna O’Brien is set to be honoured at the National Arts Club in New York at the end of the month.
The 80 year old will join Paddy Moloney of the Chieftans and others from the world of music, literature, film, theatre and the visual arts in receiving the prestigious Medal of Honour on the 27th of January.
Founded in 1898 the aim of the National Arts Club is to stimulate, foster and promote public interest in the arts and educate the American people in the fine arts.
