The Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture is requesting sympathetic treatment on area aid applications for farmers whose land has been damaged or destroyed by floods.
The committee will be briefed later on the extent of storm damage to farms and land, especially near coasts and rivers.
Here in Clare hundreds of acres land along the Shannon Estuary, at Kildysart and Ballynacally, was flooded in recent weeks, along with other land in Loop Head and the Doonbeg area.
