It’s hope one section of the Cliffs of Moher walking trail could be re-opened as early as the end of September.

Following two tragic deaths at the popular North Clare attraction in recent months, the Clare Local Development Company has confirmed 5,500 metres of the trail will be closed to the public from Thursday.

Access will be restricted to emergency services for five kilometres from Hags Head to within one kilometre south of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, while access will also be closed for a 500 metre section one kilometre north of the Visitor Centre.
