Paralympic Torch travels through Dublin today

The Paralympic Torch comes to Ireland today ahead of the start of the London games tomorrow.

Des Walsh- who’s heavily involved in charity work as well as being a staff member at Cadbury – which is sponsoring the games will carry the torch as it makes its way through Dublin.

The Paralympic flame will be lit at its spiritual home, Stoke Mandeville in the UK, this evening.

More than 2-point-4-million tickets have now been sold for the Games.

There are two Clare Competitors on Team Ireland – Jonathan McGrath  – a UL Student from Killaloe will compete for team Ireland in Swimming, while Clonlara teacher Sarah Caffrey – who’s based in London will take part in the Mixed Coxed Four rowing event.
