Paralympics head for Portugal training camp

As Ireland’s Olympic athletes begin taking their well deserved breaks, the Irish Paralympic team will make their way to training camp in Portugal this morning.

49 Irish athletes including two from County Clare  will compete across 10 sports at the event, which will be held in London from August 29th to September 10th.

Jonathon McGrath  – a UL Student from Killaloe will compete for team Ireland in Swimming, while Clonlara teacher Sarah Caffrey – who’s based in London will take part in the Mixed Coxed Four rowing event

All of the athletes will begin preparations to have themselves in top form for the beginning of the games in two weeks time.
