A passenger jet travelling from Dublin to Lanzarote has made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport after a passenger on board the plane fell ill.
Reports this morning say the Thompson Airways jet was around 200 kilometres south of Cork when its crew declared a medical emergency just before 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews were on standby at Shannon when the plane landed just after 4 o'clock.
The man was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, while the remaining passengers continued with their journey.
