Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport in the final quarter of last year reached more than half of pre-pandemic levels.

Just over 184,000 commuters came through the Midwest airport between October and December, compared to more than 341,000 in the same timeframe in 2019.

However, it’s a significant increase on the fewer than 12,000 passengers that passed through Shannon in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Shannon’s summer season is now in full swing, with transatlantic flights having returned to the Midwest last month.
