Planning permission was granted for 170 new houses in Clare last year.
The number is the highest seen here since 2011, but still a long way short of the peak of the economic boom.

This is an increase of 30 on the figure for the previous year, but still a long way off the 1,043 that were given the go-ahead in 2004, the highest number on record.
The vast majority of homes given the go-ahead last year were one-off houses while another 7 flats or apartments were given the go-ahead.
