The captain of the Costa Concordia will attend hearings this week to find out whether he’ll face manslaughter charges.

32 people died after the cruise ship hit a rock off the Italian coast in January.

A makeshift court house has been set up in a local theatre to accommodate the huge witness list and the international interest in the case.

The judge will decide who should face criminal charges after survivors described scenes of chaos, poorly trained staff and inadequate safety equipment.
