Over A Quarter Of Clare’s Disabled Population Living In Poverty

The Disability Federation of Ireland is warning that over a quarter of the 15,000 disabled people in Clare are living in poverty.

The organisation is calling on local election candidates in this county to educate themselves on disability issues ahead of polling day and to ensure their equal treatment in society.

DFI is warning that disabled adults are being closed off from employment in some cases, while housing continues to be a persistent struggle.
