The Minister for Transport has met with senior representatives from the Mid-West last evening, to discuss the Lynx international cargo hub for Shannon.

Noel Dempsey last night met with the Mid-West Regional Authority, the Mayor of Clare and his mayoral colleagues from the region who asked him to invest some of the millions of euro from the controversial travel tax into the development of the hub.

They stressed that Shannon airport could no longer survive on air passengers alone and that the development of this hub was key to securing it’s future.

It’s estimated that between 4 and 5 million euro is required to put the necessary infrastructure to deliver the much talked about Lynx project.
