Renewed Push For Doolin Pier To Become Designated Bathing Area

There is renewed optimism in Doolin that the village’s pier will become a designated bathing area in the near future.

It comes as Clare County Council has reopened submissions for the identification of bathing waters.

Doolin has been without a designated lifeguard since 2014 and calls have consistently been made to reinstate the lifeguard to ensure the numbers of people who swim there can do so safely.

Leigh O’Connell from the Doolin Pier Group is hopefully changes made in response to previous safety concerns will see that their application is successful.
