Rent in Clare is now up 113% from its lowest point.
A new report from property website Daft.ie suggests average rental prices in this county are now €1,145.
Daft.ie’s Rental Price Report for the second quarter of 2022 has been released today and shows that prices in Clare have increased by over 3% in the past three months alone.
All property types in the banner have seen a growth in rental prices.
The largest price hike in this county has been in three-bedroom houses.
Letting a three-bedroom property will set you back €1,029 – a more than 17% rise on last year’s figures.
A four-bed family home now costs €1,159 a month, while a five-bed house is €1,448.
The property type which saw the lowest increase in rental costs was the two-bed home, however, this is still a 13% rise on 2021.
Meanwhile, the report shows a mortgage payment for the a three-bedroom house is almost 50% cheaper than its rental cost.
A mortgage payment for such a property costs approximatley €622 – a difference of over €400 on what it would cost to let.
The largest difference in buying or renting can be seen in one bedroom apartments in Clare.
It’s 70% cheaper to pay a mortgage on an apartment, that it would be for an individual or a couple to rent it.
There are currently only 21 properties available to rent in the county.
