A Clare native living in Australia claims the “pros outweigh the cons” despite significant cost-of-living challenges in her new country of residence.
Shannon’s Sarah Mulcahy moved to Queensland in April of this year after studying Early Years Education and Primary Teaching but finding herself unable to secure a full-time, well-paying job in Ireland.
In the twelve months to April of this year, 69,000 people emigrated from Ireland which is the highest figure since 2015.
Sarah says although daily expenses aren’t any lower in Australia than at home, the lifestyle there is far more attractive.
