Shannon Airport’s passenger numbers were up nearly four fold in the third quarter of the year compared to the same time period in 2021.
New data from the CSO shows more than 340,000 people passed through Shannon between July and September, compared to 91,000 in quarter three of last year.

However, it’s a nine percent drop on the number of passengers that came through the Midwest between April and June.
Stansted and Heathrow remain the most popular routes in Shannon, with 59,000 people each using it during the same three month period.
