Shannon Airport’s weather station recorded its highest maximum daily temperatures ever in the months of both July and August last year.
Met Eireann’s Annual Climate Statement for 2022 reveals the mercury exceeded 30 degrees at the Clare facility in both months last summer.
Shannon also broke its November minimum temperature record in 2022, with a temperature of 14.9 degrees being recorded there on the 11th of that month.
There were more than 1,500 hours of sunshine documented in Shannon last year, which was above its long term average number.
