Sharp Increase In Level Of Overcrowding As Week Begins

There has been a sharp increase in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital as the week begins.

The latest figures from nurses union, the INMO, show there were 71 patients waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 54 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 40 more than the next busiest facility.
