Supporters of Trump Doonbeg’s planned coastal protection works are calling for the project to be allowed to proceed.
That’s after it was confirmed that there will be appeals against the Council’s decision to allow the works at Doughmore Beach to go ahead.
Objectors have criticised the move, and will ask An Bord Pleanala to have their say.

Clare County Council gave the green light for controversial coastal protection works at Doonbeg, which would see a wall of rock armour being constructed at Doughmore beach.
The planning permission is subject to nine conditions, including that the resort pays development contributions of over 265 thousand euro.
But this can be appealed to An Bord Pleanala with a January 26th deadline, and at least one group have confirmed that they will do so.
However, Liam Ryan of the Doughmore Coastal Protection Group, says the works simply must go ahead.
Friends of the Irish Environment will appeal the decision, while An Taisce and the Green Party may follow suit.
FIE Spokesman Tony Lowes says he understands the concerns raised by the local community, but insists they can and should be addressed through a redesign of the course.
