Sympathies following Boston Death

Sympathies are being expressed in North Clare today for the family of a Galway man killed in an industrial accident near Tubber yesterday.

The incident took place at around 12.30 yesterday afternoon in lands at Ballybornagh, in Boston, when the man was electrocuted after he came into contact with overhead powerlines.

The victim has been named locally as Johnny Geraghty – a father of four  from Leitrim in Loughrea.

He died after he came in contact with overhead power lines as he was working to connect up a new home in the Ballybornagh area.

Mr Geraghty and another man who were working for a contracter on behalf of the ESB Networks were errecting a pole in a remote area of the county on the Clare Galway Border at the time.
