The Tánaiste says the Revenue Commissioners need to facilitate homeowners in every possible way to pay the Local Property Tax.
There’s been uproar after it emerged that some homeowners – who want to pay the tax for 2014 by card or cheque in a single payment – have to do so by the end of November this year.
Independent TD richard Boyd Barrett says the government needs to face up to the reality that there are people who cannot afford to pay especially at this time of year, but Eamon Gilmore says a range of payment options are available.
