The Taoiseach says he expects EU leaders to follow through on a promise made in June to help Ireland with its banking debt.

Enda Kenny was responding to a joint statement issued by the Germans, the Dutch and the Finns last night, rowing back on the deal.

In the Dáil, he rejected opposition claims that he had allowed the "grass to grow under his feet" by failing  to follow up on the commitment made by heads of government in June.
