Clare tourism providers say they’re confident that a new driving route for the West of Ireland will bring extra tourists to the county.

The Final Route of the Wild Atlantic Way, which is to encourage tourists to travel along Ireland’s scenic west coast, has been published this week.

It sees visitors invited to see 16 tourist hotspots along Clare’s Western and Northern coasts.

The 2,500km route is now to be marketed internationally, and Trea Heaps  of Loop Head Tourism is hopeful it will be a success for counties like Clare.
