An East Clare community group is raising concerns that a number of proposed windfarm developments will cause “traffic chaos” in the area.
Over 70 turbines are planned for the region at sites near Meelick at Ballycar, Oatfield, Knockshanvo, Carrownagowan and Fahybeg.
For the Oatfield Windfarm project alone, Orsted LTD has forecast that up to 47 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) could traverse Sixmilebridge every day during peak construction periods.
Jim Fitzgerald from the Broadford-Oatfield Action Group believes the potential congestion will have a devastating impact.
