Tributes Paid To Mary Immaculate College President

Tributes are being paid to the President Of Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, who has passed away.

Professor Michael Hayes passed away unexpectedly on Saturday,at the age of 59, following a short illness.

The UL President, Professor Don Barry has described Professor Hayes as “a wonderful colleague who worked creatively and collaboratively to advance the cause of education in the Mid West Region in partnership with UL and LIT”.

While, Bishop of Limerick, Brendan Leahy, who’s chairperson of the college trustees and governing authority, has described him as “a man with a large cluster of talents and competencies” who “befriended many with kind words of wisdom, clarity and wit”.
