Trolley Numbers Spike To 120 At UHL

Nurses have pointed to a considerable spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 120 admitted patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 40 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 50 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when there were 530 admitted patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
