Trolley Numbers At UHL Almost Three Times Higher Than Next Busiest Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost three times higher than any other hospital in the country today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 112 patients on trolleys during morning rounds, 49 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 72 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and represents almost a quarter of all those waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
