Tusla is ‘desperately’ appealing for foster parents in Clare.

In the MidWest, there are currently nearly 500 minor being cared for by almost 400 foster carers.

However, the increase in the number of children entering care after the pandemic coupled with the the number of unaccompanied Ukrainian minors seeking refuge in Ireland has added to the pressure faced by Tusla.

 

Tusla Chief Regional Officer for the South East, Clare Murphy says both short-term and long-term foster placements are needed.
