Two Men Arrested In Connection With Criminal Damage Incidents In Ennistymon

Two men have been arrested in connection with a series of criminal damage incidents in Ennistymon in recent days, during which a firearm was discharged.

Shortly after 6pm on Sunday, a number of people in the Deerpark area of Ennistymon, were in possession of a number of weapons including at least one firearm and extensive damage was caused to a number of domestic residences and vehicles.

A firearm was also discharged and a man in his 50s was later taken to University Hospital Galway with non-life threatening injuries.

A number of scenes were preserved for technical examination.

Two men arrested in the Ennistymon area last evening in connection with the incident are currently being detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks is appealing for any witnesses to any of these incidents to come forward.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Deerpark area of Ennistymon on the evening of Sunday 27th August 2023 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí”.
