University Hospital Limerick remains the most overcrowded facility in the country today, heading into the new year.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation recorded 36 admitted patients on trolleys at the Dooradoyle site during this morning’s rounds , 22 of whom were in the Emergency Department.
Cork University Hospital was the next busiest facility today, with 24 patients on trolleys , while 3 patients are without a bed at Ennis General.

In total 182 patients nationwide have been recorded without a bed , in what will be the INMO’s final trolley count for 2023.
