Urgent Appeal For Traffic Chaos At Corkscrew Hill To Be Addressed

Residents of North Clare are making an urgent appeal for traffic “chaos” to be addressed at a site of frequent congestion in the region.

Reports of significant back-ups at the top of Corkscrew Hill on the N67 near Ballyvaughan have appeared on social media regularly in recent months.

Despite claims to the contrary, Clare County Council says “hedges are not the primary issue” but says it will arrange hedge cutting on the route.

It also claims road-widening in certain areas is being investigated as part of the North Clare Transport and Traffic Plan.

Lisdoonvarna resident Rowan McDonagh says the issue has been particularly prevalent over the last few months due to high volumes of tourist traffic.
