The Deputy US Ambassador to Ireland expects pre-clearance facilities at Shannon to be a major boost for the economic fortunes of the Mid West.
Robert Faucher is on a brief tour of the county today where he held talks with the Mayor of Clare about the opening of the facilities here at the end of the month.

Mr Faucher also spoke to Tony Mulcahy about the current global economic downturn and the impact its having on a local level.
Management at Shannon Airport are hopeful the new facilities will raise the airport’s profile on the international stage, a view shared by the Deputy Ambassador who also believes expansion to include cargo is a real runner
