A verdict will be delivered later this morning in the trial of the former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

He faces 11 charges – for crimes against humanity, war crimes and other serious violations of international law committed in Sierra Leone from 1996 to 2002.

He’s pleaded not guilty.

Programme Director with Amnesty International Ireland, Noeleen Hartigan, explains why today’s judgement is so significant.
