Visitors To Ballybeg Woods “Taking Their Lives In Their Hands” Due To Illegal Parking

It’s claimed visitors to Ballybeg Woods are “taking their lives in their hands” due to illegal parking at one of the Ennis amenity’s entrances.

Despite the existence of a car park able to accommodate at least 20 cars at the main entrance of the woods, its Clonroadbeg entrance has long been plagued with vehicles parking on the footpath which causes an obstruction for both drivers and pedestrians navigating the route.

Parking on a public footpath is illegal and offenders are liable to pay a fine of €80.

Clarecastle Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom O’Callaghan believes the practice represents a significant risk to the health and safety of visitors to Ballybeg.
